Daniel Lee Blocker

Daniel Lee Blocker, age 58, passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Daniel was born on March 21, 1968, in Loveland, Colorado, to Quitman and Annabelle (Crane) Blocker. He graduated from Salem High School in 1986 and dedicated 38 years of service to Rose Acre Farms, where he worked as the cooler manager at Jen Acres in North Vernon.

Daniel enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, and, most importantly, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from the relationships he shared with those he loved.

A dedicated Mason, Daniel was a dues-paying member and the current Worshipful Master of Butlerville Masonic Lodge #219. He was also a member and past Master of Dupont Masonic Lodge #419 and served as Secretary of Royal Arch Chapter #113 in Versailles. In addition, he was an active member of several Kentucky Masonic organizations, including Carrollton Royal Arch Chapter #55 and Milford Lodge #158.

Daniel was honored with honorary membership in five Indiana lodges: Henryville Lodge #651, English Lodge #622, Hanover Lodge #652, Union Lodge #2, and New Washington Lodge #167. He was also an honorary member of Carrollton Lodge #134 in Kentucky.

On May 31, 1988, Daniel married the love of his life, Frances Irene "Cookie" (Cornett) Blocker, in Louisville, Kentucky. Together they built a loving family and shared many cherished years together.

He is survived by his wife, Cookie; his two daughters, Lillie (Ben) Blocker and Samantha (Tony) Blocker; and his six beloved grandchildren, Madelyn and Charlotte Kozik of Stafford, Virginia, Aaron Deppe, Danica and Jules Lucas of Butlerville, and Ashlynn Carpenter of Seymour.

Daniel is also survived by his siblings: Margaret (Jerry) Miller, Becky Tucker, Sue (Wayne) Hacker, all of Salem, Indiana; Joseph (Gary) Blocker of Louisville, Kentucky; and John Blocker of Bristol, Tennessee. He also leaves behind 14 nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Quitman and Annabelle Blocker, and his oldest brother, Quitman "Sonny" Blocker.

Daniel will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his service to Freemasonry, and the kindness and friendship he extended to all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Wednesday 9/2/2026 at Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem, with Pastor Robert Johnson officiating.

Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and 11 am until the time of the service on Wednesday.

Interment at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
