Erma Jean Di Carlo, age 83 of Greenwood, Indiana passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 7:26 pm, in Norton Hospital Louisville, Kentucky.
Born November 23, 1942, in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Erman Hopkins and Mildred C. (Marcum) Hopkins.
In 1960, she graduated from Eastern High School in Pekin and in 1971 she married Joseph George Di Carlo, who passed away 2023.
Erma loved her garden and flowers while watching the birds and canning her produce with all her neighbors.
She was a former employee of Trinity College in Washington D.C.
Survivors include:
Son Larry Matthew (Bridget) Hopkins of Greenwood, Indiana;
Grandson: Steven (Shandi) Hopkins of Martinsville, Indiana;
Grandson: Travis Hopkins of Greenwood, Indiana;
Sister: Anita (Dan) Temple of Palmyra, Indiana;
Sister: Renodda (Marty) Wahking of New Albany, Indiana.
3 great grandchildren Adalynn, Maverick and Lainey Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by Her husband, and 2 brothers, Ralph Eugene and Larry Dale Hopkins.
Visitation: 12 to 2 pm Thursday September, 17 at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm at Dawalt Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Hardin
Interment at Blue River Baptist Cemetery near Salem, Indiana.
