Gladys Mae Stephens, age 91 of Charlestown, Indiana passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026 in her residence.

Born October 3, 1934 in Scottsburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Frances Babbs and Mellie (England) Babbs.

September 22, 1956 she married Franklin Stephens, who passed away August 5, 2021.

She was a retired employee of the old Bata Shoe Company in Salem. She also worked at the old LeWeb Manufacturing facility.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Salem. A Graduate of Salem High School class 1953.

Survivors include: Daughter: Debbie Matthews of Charlestown, Indiana; Son: David Franklin Stephens of Hanover Park, Illinois; Granddaughter: Katherine Dattilo; Grandson: Garrett Pridemore. She was preceded in death by Twin sons: Jeffery and Jerry, 4 brothers, 3 sisters.
