Gloria Jean Gibson, age 80 of New Albany, passed away Friday, October 16, 2026, in Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany.

Born March 27, 1946 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Parvin Lee and Geneva (Carlin) Goss.

She was a retired custodian and had been a resident of Washington County for most of her life. On October 10, 1962 she married Jessie W. Gibson, who passed away March 21, 2023.

Survivors include:

Granddaughter: Kaylee Jean Smith

Grandson: Jessie Dean Smith and

Great-granddaughter: Jeanette.

She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Terri Jeannette Smith, 1 son: Kenneth Wayne Gibson and grandchildren: Tristan Gage Smith and Cherokee Rose Smith.

Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon Wednesday 10/21/2026 at Dawalt Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Steven Gorman officiating.

Visitation: 2 to 6 pm Tuesday and 11 am until the time of the service on Wednesday.

Interment at Martinsburg Cemetery near Pekin, Indiana.
