Gregory Kennedy, age 78 of Pekin, Indiana passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Floyd County Hospital. Born January 18, 1948 in Imboden, Virginia, he was the son of the late Percy Kennedy and Georgia Evelyn (Tankersley) Tomes. He was a member of Pekin Baptist Church. Graduated from Eastern High School. Class of 1966. He served during the Vietnam War as a PN3 in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include: Son: Aaron Kennedy of Columbus, Indiana; Son: Joseph Kennedy of Florance, Kentucky; Grandson: Ryker Kennedy of Columbus, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents Percy Kennedy and Georgia Evelyn (Tankersley) Tomes, and sister Beverly Kennedy.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday 7/1/2026 at Dawalt Funeral Home with Bro. John Denny officiating.

Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am on Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home.

Interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery Pekin, Indiana.
