Herbert Edmonds

Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home

Herbert "Herb" Lee Edmonds Jr, age 70, of Salem, passed away Friday, June 19, 2026, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. Born on August 30, 1955, he was the son of the late Herbert Lee Sr. and Elizabeth (Oberhausen) Edmonds.

Herb was a self-employed stone mason who took great pride in his craftsmanship and a proud member of the American Legion. In 1993, Herb married the love of his life, and together they blended their families into one. He enjoyed riding his Harley whenever he had the chance but above all, Herb was known as the family’s “Papa Bear”—tough, protective, dependable, and those closest to him, knew he was the kindest man with the most tender heart.

He is survived by his wife: Jane (Faust) Edmonds; their five children: Shannon Cantu, Herbert Edmonds lll, Aaron (Morgan) Edmonds, Lindsey (Chris) Baylor Kramer and Cody (Ashley) Pieratt; two brothers: Terry Edmonds and Michael (Malia) Edmonds; one sister: Lois (Dave) Rohde; six grandchildren: Clara Bishop, Gracie Edmonds, Bristol and Brock Baylor, Ava and Gemma Pieratt; one great-grandchild: Wade Gordon; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been chosen at this time; a celebration of life will be held at a later date and time.

Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home was entrusted with funeral care.
