Janet Elaine Deich, age 76 of Salem, Indiana passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Born August 17, 1949, in Scottsburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late James V. Brown and Cleatus (Stewart) Brown. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She had been a life resident of Washington County. She graduated from Salem High School. Then continuing her education through IU nursing program graduating in 1970. On June 8, 1968, she married James L. Deich. She was a member of the Humane Society of Washington County, and a 4H Leader in the 80s.

Survivors include Son: Eric (Pamela) Deich of Salem, Indiana; Daughter: Dana Kay (Brad) Carey of Salem, Indiana; Brother: Russell Brown of Salem, Indiana; Granddaughter: Tiffany Nicole (Steven) Sheckles of Salem, Indiana; Granddaughter: Madison (Cole) Deich of Scottsburg, Indiana; Granddaughter: Allie (Noah) Hamilton of Salem, Indiana; Granddaughter: Coleen Carey of Salem, Indiana. 2 Great-Grandchildren Paul and Milo Sheckles; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James, parents and two brothers: Ronald Brown and Paul Brown.
