Jerry Wayne Goodwin, age 82 of Pekin, Indiana passed away Wednesday,

February 18, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd New Albany, Indiana.

Born on March 24, 1943, in Fayetteville, Tennessee. He was the son of the late JB Goodwin and Gewinelle (Camp) Goodwin.

He retired from the First Baptist Church in Pekin, IN as a Minister after 40 years. He received his GED and then joined the U.S. Army for 3 years, prior to dedicating his life to the ministry in 1982.

He married Janet S. (Bryant) Goodwin on September 2, 1962, who passed away on April 19, 2005. On July 1, 2006, he married Marion (Brambles) Goodwin, who survives.

Survivors include Son: Jerry (Anna) Goodwin II of Jeffersonville, Indiana; Daughter: Stephanie Scott of Salem, Indiana; Grandson Logan (Katie Winters) Goodwin, in Delaware; Grandson: Craigen (Kassidy) Goodwin of Wichita Falls, Texas; Granddaughter: Shelby (Tyler) Niehaus of Salem, Indiana; Granddaughter: Kelsey Goodwin of Jeffersonville, Indiana; Grandson: Devin Bagshaw of Mitchell, Indiana; Grandson: Jaxson Scott of Salem, Indiana; Four Stepsons: Omer Bobo Jr., John Eric Bobo, Michael Edward Bobo and Matt Bobo along with many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Janet S. (Bryant) Goodwin.

Visitation: 10 am to 1 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home.

Interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery Pekin, Indiana.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to follow.
