Lane closures planned for SR-135 in northern Washington County

The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced alternating lane closures for State Road 135 in Washington and Jackson Counties. Beginning on or around Monday, August 3, crews will begin alternating lane closures on State Road 135 near the county line between Salem and Brownstown. The lane closures will occur over the Muscatatuck River.

Alternating lane closures will allow for a bridge deck overlay project and bridge maintenance work. INDOT says that one lane of traffic will remain open in the work zone, and traffic flow will be controlled by a temporary traffic signal.

This project is expected to last through November, depending on the weather. The Indiana Department of Transportation reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
