On July 2, 2025, emergency responders were called to the area near Dutch Creek Road and Buffalo Trace Road, just off State Road 135, following reports of a serious vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, responders found a 2008 Mazda 3 with significant front-end damage. The driver, 28-year-old Jarrod Wolfe of Pekin, Indiana, was located at the scene.
Initial investigation suggests Wolfe’s vehicle veered left of center, left the roadway, and struck two trees. Authorities suspect a possible medical episode may have played a role in the incident.
Due to the severity of his injuries, Wolfe was flown by helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
The crash is being investigated by Deputy Paul Reyling, with assistance from Deputy Seth Goode, the Washington County Ambulance Service, and the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department.
