A new faith-based recovery residence for women is opening its doors in Washington County, and the community is being invited to take part in a special event to help make it possible.
L.I.F.E. House (Living in Freedom Everyday) will host its 1st Annual “Living the Sweet Life: An Evening of Art & Recovery” at Cornerstone Chapel & Celebration Center on Saturday, November 8, from 5–8 p.m. The event will feature dinner, guest speakers, raffles, and both silent and dessert auctions.

About the Evening
Tickets are $25 per person, which includes dinner, dessert, a drink, and one raffle entry. Guests may choose from traditional chili, white chicken chili, or chicken and dumplings.
The evening will also feature stories of recovery and resilience. Kelly Simons and Kirsten Quick will share their experiences with addiction and the journey of creating L.I.F.E. House, while Cody Sanders will speak about his personal story of faith and sobriety.
Attendees can take part in a silent auction and raffle offering a wide variety of items, from artwork by local and non-local artists to baked goods, handmade crafts, themed baskets, electronics, dining packages, and more.
About L.I.F.E. House
L.I.F.E. House, a faith-based recovery residence in Washington County, aims to provide a safe and structured environment for women transitioning from active addiction into recovery.
Organizers say the home will help reduce recidivism by offering women leaving incarceration a structured reentry path, while also strengthening families and neighborhoods. “Support is fundamental for recovery,” said Simons, who credits her mentors and community of faith with helping her transform her own life after addiction and incarceration. Since her release, she has earned two college degrees, become a Certified Peer Recovery Coach, and now works helping others reenter society successfully.
How to Support
In addition to individual tickets, community members and businesses can sponsor a table of seven for $150, which includes dinner, drinks, and raffle entries for each guest, along with recognition on social media as a supporter of recovery.
L.I.F.E. House is also seeking donations of desserts for the silent auction and raffle prize contributions such as getaway packages, furniture, tickets to events, and themed baskets. Donors will be recognized in promotional materials and during the event.
