Norma Louise Coats ( Marion)
Norma Louise Coats, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, at Baptist Floyd Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 25th, 1939, in Leesburg, Virginia.
Norma lived a life defined by independence, hard work, and an unwavering dedication to her family. She took great pride in caring for those she loved, always ensuring her family felt supported, nurtured, and deeply cherished. Her home was a place of comfort, strength, and unconditional love.
She is survived by her four children: Debra Thompson (Arlie Combs), Rebecca Durbin (Kevin), Terry Naugle all of Salem, and David Naugle (Tawny) of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Norma was a proud and loving "Granny" to eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her brothers, Leon (Arlene) Marion and Victor Marion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Sonny" Coats; her parents, Homer Inez Marion (Robinson); her sisters, Phyllis Marion, Bonnie Sue Marion, Lainey Marion, and Almeda "Medie" Marion; and her brothers, Robert Marion, Frank Marion, and Ronald "Ronnie" Marion.
Norma will be fondly remembered for her deep devotion to her family and her remarkable green thumb, which brought beauty and life to everything she touched. Her legacy of love, strength, and care will continue to live on in all who knew her.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Memorial services will be held Friday, April 17 at 7PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, April 17 from 4-7PM at the funeral home.
