Christine E. Voyles, age 76, of Salem, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025 at her residence. Born October 3, 1948 in Vicco, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Lillian Carroll Everage.


Christine was a member of Blue River Baptist Church; she was a retired caregiver and formerly employed at Tecumseh in Salem.


She is survived by 2 daughters: Melody Shook (Pat) and April Kenyon; 1 step-son: Benjamin Voyles (Savanna); 1 brother: Ronnie Everage; 2 sisters: Jenny Everage and Karen Johnston; 2 step-brothers: Darryl Madden and Lonnie Madden; 2 step-sisters: Linda Lanham and Demma Sanders; 9 grandchildren: Noah Shook (Mary Jo), Anna Miller (Logan), Louisa Shook, Justin Voyles, Brittney Manship (Shane), Taylor Voyles, Keegan Taylor, Addison Rippy, and Maddalyne Rippy; and 5 great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Abel Voyles; father and step-mother, Everett and Dorothy Everage; mother and step-father, Lillian Smith and Goodloe Smith; brother, Wayne Everage; sister, Linda Vanover; 4 step-brothers: Leslie Madden, Donald Madden, Hershel Madden, and Carson Madden; and 1 step-sister: Wanda Stewart.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Salem Chapel. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
