Obituary: Johnnie Saylor

Johnnie Saylor, age 77 of Salem, Indiana passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 5:50 am, in his residence. Born December 18, 1947 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Lee Saylor and Nadine (Bowling) Saylor.

He then joined the U.S. Army after High School. He attended New Salem First Church of God. He loved tinkering with his trucks in his spare time.

Survivors include: Companion over 30 years Verna Stewart of Salem, Indiana. Brother: David Saylor of Salem, Indiana; Sister: Helen Bryant of Salem, Indiana; Sister: Mary Barger of Pekin, Indiana; Sister: Della Diehl of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; Sister: Loretta Burns of Salem, Indiana and lots of neices and newphews. He was preceded in death by sister, Evelyn Peacock and his wife Kay Knight

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Jason Saylor officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Sunday and 12 to 1 pm Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home. Interment at Beech Grove Cemetery Salem, Indiana.
