Obituary: Lorna Strojny

Lorna Strojny, age 72, of Borden passed away peacefully Friday, May 30, 2025. Born March 19, 1953 in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Joy Wheeler and Dorothy (Hammonds) Wheeler.


Lorna went to cosmetology school and never stopped doing hair even after she became an Academic Advisor at Ivy Tech (retired.) At heart, she was a Caregiver. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Borden, the Borden Braves Foundation, and the NRA.


She is survived by her daughters, Erika Myers (Stuart); Ashley Spice (Graham); brother, Jerry Bidwell; 3 sisters: Joy Carolyn Sumner (Sam), Diana Hall (James,) and Teresa Rutherford; and five (5) grandchildren: Isaac Myers, Nathaniel Myers, Gabriel Myers, Henry Spice, and Lila Spice.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Joy and Dorothy Wheeler; and brother, Danny Bidwell.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Borden with Bro. Brian Combs officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, June 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.


Donations in memory of Lorna may be made to the Borden Braves Foundation or KASA (Kentuckiana Autistic Spectrum Alliance.)
