Obituary: Reda Lynn Alexander

Reda Lynn Alexander, age 69 of Salem, Indiana passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Baptist Health Floyd New Albany.


Born August 7, 1955 in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Lena Fern (Cox) Sowder.


Reda graduated from Salem High School and later from Bellarmine College with a Bachelor in Nursing. She had been life resident of Washington County and was a member of Westview Christian Church.


On July 29, 1995 she married Perry L. Alexander, who survives.


Also surviving are 2 sons: Toby Sowder and Tony (Mickie) Alexander; 1 daughter: Kim (Kevin) Crady; 2 sisters: Janet (David) Bowling and Judy (Charlie) Nicely; 2 Brothers: Randall (Scarlet) Sowder and Kent Sowder; 7 grandchildren: Dustin Armand, Xavier Crady, Zane (Emily) Crady, Eden Sizemore, Taylor Alexander, Zane Sowder and Xander Crady and 4 great grandchildren: Greyson Russell, Anastasia Sowder, Pyper Sizemore and Nolan Crady.


She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Vernon Sowder.


Reda loved being a nurse, but loved her grandchildren more than anything.


Funeral Service: 10:30 am Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Winslow Cemetery.


Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and 9 am until the time of the service on Thursday.
