Ronald Bishop, 87, passed away on May 13, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ronald Bishop was born on May 17, 1937, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to Alvin Bishop and Dorothy (Boyd) Bishop. Ronald graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1955, marking the beginning of his lifelong career as owner-operator of the family business, Bishop Motor Company.
Ronald married Debra (Brown) Bishop on May 17, 2001, and joined together they had six children, all of whom Ronald cared for deeply and cherished as his own. In his free time, Ronald enjoyed a range of leisure activities, such as strolling around Lake Iola, watching Fox News, and monitoring the stock market, while also cherishing the company of his dogs.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Faye Bishop; his brother, William Jerry Bishop and his sister Sandra Swope. Surviving to cherish his memory, is his loving wife, Debra (Brown) Bishop; his children, Dorothy (Rodney) Arney, Robert (Kori) Horn, John (Sara) Horn, Carlis (Betty) McKinney, Gary (Sarah) Robbins and Richard Robbins; two nephews, James "Boo" (Tiffany) Bishop and Marty Bishop; thirteen grandchildren; Christopher, Dillon, Andrea, Eryk, Sophia, Ethan, Sylas, Whitley, Westyn, Breyer, Jeremy, Isaiah and Laura; eight great grandchildren, Anna, Kayden, Emma, Kaila, Jaxon, Silas, Jayla and Amity; two great great grandchildren Payton and Parker.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Collins Funeral Home of Scottsburg, Indiana.
Memorial donations can be made in Ronald's name to Scott County Community Foundation c/o Collins Funeral Home.
