Semi/Car Wreck on SR-56 East

Updated: Jun 14

On June 10, Washington County emergency responders received a call at 12:43pm regarding a wreck involving a blue Honda Civic and a red Volvo semi on SR-56 East near N Mount Rd. This happens to be the second semi-related wreck on 56 East in the span of a week.

According to Captain Joe Keltner from the Washington County Sheriff's Department, the Civic pulled out from the side of the road in front of the semi.

“As a friendly reminder, people need to always look twice before entering the roadway,” said Captain Keltner.

The driver and passengers of the Civic were transported via ambulance to Saint Vincent hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Departments that responded to the scene included Washington County Sheriff's Department, Washington County Ambulance Service, Gibson Township Fire Department, and Salem Fire Department.
