Steven Lee Moore, age 64, of Pekin, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Born on April 9, 1962, in Salem, Indiana, Steve was the son of George Moore and Brenda Stepro. He was a proud graduate of Eastern High School in Pekin, Class of 1981.

A lifelong farmer, Steve owned and operated his family's farm where he raised dairy cattle, beef cattle, turkeys, and a variety of crops and grains. Farming was more than his livelihood-it was his life's passion. Through years of hard work, dedication, and determination, he continually expanded the family farm, taking great pride in the life he built alongside those he loved. It was truly a family farm, and Steve treasured every moment spent working the land with his family.

On May 27, 1995, Steve married the love of his life, Martha (Purlee) Moore. Together they made their home in Pekin, where they built a life centered on faith, family, and farming.

When he wasn't tending to the farm, Steve enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting, and riding four-wheelers with his faithful companion, his beloved dog, Cookie. Although he filled many roles throughout his life-as a husband, father, son, brother, farmer, and friend-his greatest joy came from being "PapPap." Nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his granddaughter and family.

Steve was a faithful member of Big Springs Church of Christ and the Washington County Cattlemen's Association. He will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, generous heart, quiet strength, and the deep love he had for his family, his faith, and the farm that defined his life.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, George Moore.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Martha Moore; his mother, Brenda Stepro; his children, Malachi (Bailey) Moore, Mason Moore, and Mattie (Darian) Cobb; his cherished granddaughter, Josie Moore; his brother, Jeff (Jennifer) Moore; his brother, Matthew (Amber) Purlee; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Big Springs Church of Christ in Pekin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Big Springs Church of Christ with burial to follow in Big Spring Cemetery.

Steve's legacy of faith, hard work, and devotion to family will live on through the generations he loved so deeply. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life storytelling, always having a story that could make a room laugh, reflect, or simply enjoy the moment. Steven never met a stranger and was the kind of man who would truly give the shirt off his back-or his last dollar-to anyone in need. His kindness, generosity, humble spirit, and willingness to help others without hesitation left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
