Thelma Irene Gilstrap, age 96 of Salem, Indiana passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026 in Salem Crossing Salem, Indiana.

Born February 14, 1930 in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late John Lee and Ruth (Bush) Lee.

She was a homemaker, had been a life resident of Washington County and was a 1947 graduate of Salem High School.

On February 14, 1949 she married Bernard Calvin Gilstrap, who passed away August 2, 1976.

Survivors include: Daughter: Lolita D. (Kerry) Crockett of Salem, Indiana; Son: Gary (Elaine) Gilstrap of Jeffersonville, Indiana and 1 Granddaughter: Tiffany (Ben) Martin of Salem, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by 1 grandson: Trevor Crockett, 2 brothers: Gene and Kenneth Lee, 5 sisters and 1 half brother, Donovan Tatlock.

Visitation: 10 am to 1 pm Saturday at Dawalt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Saturday 2/21/2026 at Dawalt Funeral Home with Bro. Russell Amburn officiating.

Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery Salem, Indiana.
