On July 29 at 12:07 pm, Washington County emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of West Mulberry and Shelby Street in regard to a two-vehicle accident involving two trucks.
Upon arrival, a white Ford F-150 with substantial front-end damage could be seen partially on the sidewalk on the south side of W Mulberry Street, and a gray Dodge RAM 1500 with back-end damage could be seen close by.
“The white truck here was on Shelby Street trying to go northbound across Mulberry,” said Salem Police Chief Eric Mills. “They failed to yield, which caused a crash with the other truck going eastbound into town that was pulling a trailer with a zero-turn mower. The driver of the white F-150 had a small abrasion on his right elbow. Pretty minor injuries.”
Thanks to the fast response of the Salem Police Department, Salem Fire Department, and Wilcox Towing & Trucking, the scene was cleared in a timely manner, and traffic resumed to its normal state along W Mulberry Street.
