Veda Naugle, 81, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, February 4, 2026. She was born on March 10, 1944 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Warden and Flora (Roberts) Smith.

Veda is survived by her son, Brad Naugle; grandchildren, Zackary McKinley, Kyle (Mandy) Naugle, Skylaur (Donnie) McKinley-Snelling, and Reagan Naugle; one great grandchild; and brothers, Benny Smith, Leroy Smith, Ray Smith, and Mike Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, listed above; son, Mark A. Naugle; daughter, Tammy McKinley; sisters, Fran Bowling, Bernice Garrett, and Sandy Graham; brothers, Gib Smith, Cecil Smith, and Kenneth Smith; and her beloved long-time companion, John Hardin.

Funeral services for Veda will be held Monday, February 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home, 107 W. Mulberry Street, Salem. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Veda will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Franklin Cemetery.
