On Thursday, October 30, Washington County emergency responders received a dispatch call at 3:58 pm regarding a single-vehicle wreck at the roundabout intersecting Jackson Street and the Salem Bypass. The dispatch call stated that the vehicle flipped off the road and came to a rest on its top. Upon arrival, a vehicle could be seen in the ditch on the northeast corner of the roundabout.
“We have one individual going to the hospital,” said Officer Russell Wilcoxson. “What we’ve gathered so far is that it appears they drove over the grass in the middle of the roundabout and flipped multiple times and landed down there.”
Specific injuries are uncertain at this time, however, one individual was transported via ambulance. Thanks to the quick response of the Salem Police Department, Salem Fire Department, Washington County EMS and Wilcox Towing & Trucking, the scene was cleared in a timely manner, and traffic returned to normal.
