William R. Kidd, age 77 of Salem, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Salem Crossing.
Born August 24, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William Edward and Lucille Martha (Durham) Kidd.
He was a retired truck driver and a former employee of Kimball Office.
He was a member of Southern Hills Church and served during the Vietnam War as a Spec 4 in the U.S. Army. He passed out "Lonesome Road" religious music CD's to his fellow truckers and enjoyed gardening, flowers and animals.
On January 21, 2005 he married Brenda Lee (Seybold) Kidd, who survives.
Also surviving are: Daughter: Kristina (John) Rue of Ohio; 3 Brothers: Dave and Jeff Kidd of Salem and Alan Kidd of Pekin; grandchildren Jerrica (Rue) Graham and Ashley Rue and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Paul Kidd, sister: Linda McCaslin and brothers: Raymond and John Kidd.
Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Thursday 7/2/2026 at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Horners Chapel Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation: 10 am until the time of the service on Thursday.
