Aftermath of April 2 Tornado

Shortly before 11:30 P.M. on April 2nd, 2025, a tornado warning was issued for Washington County. Although the South Boston area suffered the highest levels of actual tornado damage, high wind gusts all over Washington County caused a variety of issues, including thousands of power outages for Jackson County REMC and Duke Energy, downed trees, limbs, and utility poles, and damages to personal property.
