"Back in Line" with Dr. Mosier: The Thanksgiving Tug-of-War

When Ryder Wants the Turkey and Ethan Starts a Food Fight

ree

Moments of genuine gratitude often arrive when you least expect them. After saying grace, Ryder and I settled into the living room—leash in hand—because with a Great Dane of his height, everything on the table is fair game. And as much as he would have appreciated the hours of meal prep, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t intended for a massive, starving puppy who believes every meal might be his last.

While holding back this horse of a dog, I watched my family laughing and trading stories around our Thanksgiving meal. Not everyone could make it this year due to health issues, but I was deeply thankful for those who were there.

It’s funny how even in the chaos—Ethan was throwing food during this very moment of reflection—you can still see so clearly how God has blessed you with people who truly care.

As I sit here writing to you this morning, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for you and our community. From the moment we arrived in town, you welcomed us in. You’ve been a blessing in my boys’ lives—because let’s be honest, it takes a village, especially with boys who inherited their wild genetics from their mother. You’ve stood by us through so many seasons of change, which leads to a new one regarding our massage therapy services.

Mikey is now providing massages here in the main office at 304 E. Market Street, and this may be a small puzzle piece pointing to an even bigger change coming in 2026.

We have so much to be thankful for at MFC, and I want to express my gratitude for your support of our Sweater Together program. We’re about halfway to our goal! If you haven’t ordered yours yet, click the link below to get one today.

Lastly—and this is something I’m truly excited about—I want to give you two of my children’s books for free. You may have heard of the first one (Doctor in the Mirror), but its sequel (Dr. Bottom & the Case of the RainDeer Poo Crew) hasn’t been revealed yet. I considered having it published, but instead I want to share it with people I care about—like you. Feedback is always welcome, and I hope these stories bring a smile to your home.

Your friend,

Dr. Mosier
