Cody was a very selfish person, but would help anyone in need. He would give you his last dollar if you needed the help. He was a jack of all trades and what he didn't know, after many swear words and tantrums, he would figure it out and get it done! He wasn't a very reliable person, but you could rely on him when you really needed him. He wasn't the best father, but he tried and was the father/ father figure to 12 kids who looked up to asked him for advice often.

Despite the way he looked, he was a very active person. He loved swimming, camping, fishing and hiking. He was an idiot and could always make you laugh! He was always spouting some kind of nonsense that made you question him half the time before dying of laughter. He loved the beach and made it his mission to visit Fort Myers, Florida as often as possible. He may have been a butthole, but he was our butthole and we wouldn't change it for anything.

He was preceded in death by Grandma, Helen Ruth (Shrum) Copas.

A Gathering to Celebrate his Life will be held from Noon to 2 pm Wednesday August 26, 2026 at Dawalt Funeral Home.
