Farmers' Market On The Bricks to hit Market Street Friday

This Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Market Street in Salem will be set up with a multitude of vendors for the Farmers’ Market On The Bricks event! Featuring 15 different market vendors, there will be fresh meat, produce, and much more for everyone to enjoy.

“Farmer’s Market On The Bricks is a special evening for our farmer’s market,” said organizer Judy Harper. “We normally have the farmer’s market on Saturday mornings (in the Justice Center parking lot), but we are doing this special event on Friday night in conjunction with the mayor and the city to provide another opportunity for people to shop locally. It will be a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

She went on to explain that they will have fresh produce, homemade baked goods, handmade craft items, jams, gourmet dog treats, as well as the Good Earth Master Gardeners.

“I love the slow paced, friendly people [of Washington County],” Harper said. “People are so friendly here. I moved from California where everything is fast paced and sometimes rude. I don’t find that here. This is a much more friendly community, and I really enjoy living here… A farmers’ market is more than just buying fresh food. It is about strengthening the community. It is about creating a place where neighbors can gather. We just want everybody to come out and have a good time and enjoy themselves on Friday.”

If you find yourself in need of fresh, locally-sourced food, or if you are just looking for something to do, stop by Market Street on Friday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm to experience Farmers’ Market On The Bricks!
