Humane Society launches spring flower fundraiser ahead of Mother’s Day

The Humane Society of Washington County is launching a spring flower fundraiser, offering locally grown geraniums and hanging baskets ahead of Mother’s Day.

Orders are open through April 15, with pickup scheduled for May 2 at 1 p.m. at the Salem Animal Shelter. The sale is designed to provide supporters with seasonal plants while generating funding for the organization’s ongoing animal welfare efforts.

Flowers are being sourced from Fulkerson Farms, a local grower. Organizers note that the timing allows buyers to have arrangements ready for Mother’s Day delivery.

Proceeds will support the humane society’s mission, which includes preventing animal abuse and neglect, reducing pet overpopulation through education and spay/neuter initiatives, and promoting responsible pet ownership. The organization also focuses on strengthening the relationship between people and animals through community outreach and advocacy programs.

Orders can be placed online through the Fulkerson Farms fundraiser page.

The fundraiser is one of the group’s primary seasonal efforts to sustain operations at the shelter and expand services aimed at improving animal welfare across the county.
