Jim "Storm" Dale Dobbs, Sr

Jim "Storm" Dale Dobbs, Sr., age 78 of Vallonia, Indiana passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 5:14 am, in his residence.


He was born September 9, 1947 in Co-Operative, Kentucky, the son of the late Melvin and Dorothy (Roberts) Dobbs.


After High School he joined the U.S. Army proudly serving during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a car salesman until retiring.


He was a gun enthusiast and a member of the N.R.A. and he enjoyed the outdoors especially gardening, fishing, hunting and any activity with his grandchildren. He welcomed everyone into his home and treated them as family. Jim loved to show off his grilling mastery with samples of his brisket, ribs and salmon.


Jim was also a member of Southern Hills Church and the Salem American Legion Cecil Grimes Post #41.


His family request memorial contributions be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation to support our nation's greatest heroes and their families.

Survivors include:

Wife: Bonita L. (Scifres) Dobbs

Daughter: Charlotte (Jeff) Grahovac;

Daughter: Tiffany Smith;

Son: Adam (Danielle) Parr;

Son: Darrell (Heather) Smith;

Son: Adam Day;

Son: Aaron (Sheila) Dobbs;

Son: Jimmy (Caryn) Dobbs Jr.;

Son: Jeff (Hope) Dobbs;

Son: Kristopher (Connie) Dobbs.


He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by siblings: Vera, Paul, Rabon, Irene, Peter and Terry Dobbs.


A Celebration of His Life will be held at a later date.
