Maria Crecelius, age 85 of Salem, Indiana passed away Friday, August 21, 2026 at 5:55 am, in her residence. Born December 20, 1940 in Amsterdam, Holland, she was the daughter of the late Adrian Veltman and Catherine (Cornelius) Veltman.

On November 30, 1959 she married Gerald L. Crecelius, who passed away December 19, 2014.

Survivors include: Daughter: Debbie (James) Geary of Pekin, Indiana; Daughter: Patricia (Dustin) Hatfield of Salem, Indiana; Daughter: Tammy (Gill) Springfield of New Albany, Indiana; Daughter: Ronda Kelley of Greenville, Indiana; Daughter: Michells (Doug) Palmer of Salem,

Indiana. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchildren.
