A PRESS RELEASE FROM THE WASHINGTON COUNTY FAMILY YMCA

The Washington County Family YMCA is proud to recognize Corey and Lauren Churchman, owners of Marshall Monuments in Salem, for their generous contribution to the Beth Armstrong Y-For-All Capital Campaign.

The Churchman family, deeply rooted in Christian faith and values, exemplifies the YMCA’s mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Their gift not only reflects their commitment to faith and family but also their desire to invest in the health and future of Washington County. The Beth Armstrong Y-For-All Capital Campaign is focused on expanding the YMCA’s facilities to meet growing community needs. The campaign has already successfully funded the construction of a childcare and early learning center, ensuring that local children will have a safe, nurturing, and educational environment during their most formative years.

Now, with Phase 1 complete, the YMCA turns its attention to Phase 2: a family-focused community recreation center, designed to bring kids, families, and seniors together through inclusive, healthy living opportunities. With $600,000 left to raise, every contribution—large or small—brings the vision one step closer to reality. “The Churchmans are not only supporters—they are part of our Y family,” said Kristy Purlee, CEO of the Washington County Family YMCA. “They participate in youth sports, early learning programs, and live the very values we strive to model. Their support is helping us create a space where everyone—regardless of age, background, or ability—can grow stronger together.”

The YMCA invites other community members, families, and local businesses to join in supporting the Beth Armstrong Y-For-All Capital Campaign. Every gift helps build a more connected, resilient, and thriving Washington County. For more information or to contribute to the campaign, visit www.wcfymca.org or contact Kristy Purlee at (812) 883-9622.
