Nana’s This N’ That, a retail shop on the southwest corner of the Salem Square, has announced it will close this month.
The store, owned by Tina Lee, opened in the spring of 2019 and offers a wide range of items including vintage knickknacks, antiques, china, books, records, jewelry and other collectibles.
Lee said the decision to close comes primarily due to ongoing challenges with parking availability near the shop. While signage designates two-hour parking during weekday business hours, she said many spaces are often occupied for extended periods. A recently added free parking lot southwest of the square has not significantly changed the situation, according to Lee.
The shop’s final regular day of business is scheduled for Saturday, March 28. Lee said she plans to reopen occasionally during special events on the square, including the upcoming Tulip Walk on Saturday, April 11, as long as she still has remaining inventory.
Following the closure, Lee said she intends to retire, spend more time at home and travel.
The closing will add to the number of vacant storefronts on the Salem Square, particularly along the south side, where several spaces are currently unoccupied.
