Residents will have the opportunity to connect with dozens of local service providers, agencies, and organizations during Washington County Resource Day on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salem High School Randy Johnson Fieldhouse, located at 700 N. Harrison St. in Salem.
Hosted by The Warming Station, the event is designed to bring resources from across Washington County together in one location for residents seeking assistance with healthcare, employment, education, housing, food access, family services, recovery support, and more.
Around 70 organizations, agencies, and providers are expected to participate, giving attendees the opportunity to meet directly with representatives and learn about available programs and services.
Areas of support represented at the event will include:
Veterans and military services, including VA services, military recruiters, and veteran support resources
Food and essential needs, including food resources, clothing, and utility assistance
Health services, including the Washington County Health Department, St. Vincent healthcare services, dental and vision resources, and other healthcare providers
Family services, including child support services, pregnancy and early childhood programs, and youth programs
Recovery and support, including addiction recovery resources, mental health services, and transitional housing assistance
Jobs and education, including employment services, adult education, and vocational rehabilitation
The event will also feature several giveaways and free resources for attendees. Bargain Barrel will provide winter coats, school supplies, clothing, and toiletries, while Morgan Foods will provide canned goods for distribution.
Attendees will have access to free meals, made possible through the generosity of donors to the Washington County Community Foundation. Heavenly Hot Dogs will provide food during the event, and Hayes Lemonade will be available on site for purchase.
A grand prize drawing will also be held, with two $250 JayC Food Store gift cards available to winners.
