Roger Arlie Robinson, Orleans, Indiana, passed away on October 8, 2026, at Paoli Health and Living where he had resided since 2024. Roger was born December 20th, 1946, in East Bernstadt, Kentucky, to Janet Lavell Robinson and Henry Arlie Robinson.
A 1964 graduate from Paoli High School and a proud graduate from Purdue University in 1968, Roger taught vocational agriculture, biology and chemistry at Orleans High School for five years. He left teaching and pursued farming full time, and then in 1975 followed his British grandfather and became an auctioneer.
Many auctions were conducted by Robinson Auction Service through the years as farm, household, and real estate auctions were conducted. He also assisted with the 4 H auction for many years and was auctioneer at Springville Feeder auction and Milltown Feeder auction. In the early 1980’s, he won the Indiana Auctioneer Association bid calling championship at the annual convention.
Roger was a people person and enjoyed the many acquaintances he made during his career in the auction service, teaching, and farming. He served on several boards including soil conservation, 4 H, and on the Orleans Community School board.
Another happy place was the bleachers and sports chairs at grandchildren’s sporting events. For several years he and Purdue friends had tickets for Purdue basketball games.
Faith was an important part of Roger’s life having attended church all his life, sitting near his mother who often played the piano when he was young and enjoying listening to his parents sing in church quartets.
