Washington County Family YMCA to celebrate 25 years with anniversary gala

The Washington County Family YMCA invites community members, partners, and supporters to celebrate 25 years of strengthening community at its upcoming 25th Anniversary Gala, held April 25 from 7:00–10:00 PM at Twin

Creek Farms, located at 2626 N. Henderson Park Rd.

This milestone event not only honors the YMCA’s local impact over the past quarter-century, but also coincides with the 175th anniversary of YMCA of the USA, highlighting a shared legacy of connection, growth, and service.

As the YMCA looks to the future, it is preparing to break ground on an exciting expansion project that will include a new childcare center and indoor recreation space, with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for April 18.

“For 25 years, our YMCA has been a place where people can build meaningful connections and strengthen their well-being,” said Kristy Purlee, Chief Executive Officer. “Rooted in our Christian mission, we are called to serve others with compassion and create opportunities for all people. At the Y, we strive to facilitate achievement, relationships, and belonging. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re also investing in the future of our community, creating spaces that will serve families for generations to come.”

Event highlights include a silent auction featuring donations from local individuals and businesses, as well as a live auction with special items that will excite Indiana University fans. The evening will also feature catering by Vanessa Goode and event photography by SGN Photography and Dowling Family Photos.

The YMCA extends sincere appreciation to event sponsors Orange County Beverage, Marshall Monuments, and Roger Pennington of the Salem City Council.

Community members and businesses are encouraged to support the event through silent auction donations or sponsorship opportunities. Proceeds from the Gala will benefit the final phase of funding needed to support the childcare center and indoor recreation space project. Thanks to a generous matching gift, every dollar donated will be matched, doubling the impact and helping bring this important community investment to life.
