WCCF Donors Award Over 120K in Grants

Grants totaling over $120,000.00 were awarded to organizations serving Washington County by the generous donors of the Washington County Community Foundation for the Fall 2025 grant cycle. Grants are primarily awarded from the Foundation’s Touch Tomorrow Funds.
Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded $15,000.00 towards the purchase of an emergency UTV for use in technical and wildland emergencies in an effort to improve response time.
The newly formed Girl Scout Troop #4029 has been awarded a $3,883.51 to purchase camping supplies, handbooks, tools, and patches.
Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department will be updating their Air Packs and hoses with a $13,292.40 grant. This allows them to purchase up-to-date and in-code packs and hoses for firefighters and their engines.
LifeHouse Recovery Center will be receiving a $9,950.00 grant to assist with necessary renovations for a new recovery center in Washington County in order to help women get the help they need for substance issues.
The model train will be moving again at The Depot thanks to a $5,000.00 grant to the Washington County Historical Society. Funds will be used to upgrade the current system with the latest technology available.
Awareness Washington County was awarded a $60,000.00 grant to install repurposed playground equipment from Bradie Shrum Elementary School as well as installing all-inclusive playground equipment at Lake Salinda.
A $5,000.00 grant has been awarded to CASA for targeted volunteer recruitment campaigns in order to help more at-risk children in Washington County.
Junior Achievement has been awarded a $2,500.00 grant for financial literacy programming for the schools in our community.
