This week is an answer to a summer full of prayers… the kids are finally going back to school! Don’t get me wrong—I love my boys. But the return to routine is long overdue. Plus, they need to burn off some of that wild energy with their friends (preferably not in my living room).

A couple of weeks ago, Ellen came to me with an idea: she wanted to host a foreign exchange student. I said, “No way!” We’ve got enough on our plates already. We can’t be entertaining a foreign exchange student!

We encountered a very angry wizard the moment we arrived at the Great Wolf Lodge. While we were in line to pick up wands for Isaiah and Isaac to play the MagiQuest game (basically a wizard-themed scavenger hunt), a short, round, balding, middle-aged man—wearing a goofy wizard outfit—was throwing a full-blown temper tantrum.
