The Return of Routine, Rallied Resolutions, and Reigning in the Chaos

This week is an answer to a summer full of prayers… the kids are finally going back to school!
Don’t get me wrong—I love my boys. But the return to routine is long overdue. Plus, they need to burn off some of that wild energy with their friends (preferably not in my living room).
The start of a school year is a fresh beginning—not just for students, but for us parents too. Many of us set goals with the best intentions, only to watch them drift off course when life gets hectic.
Personally, this summer marked a re-kickstart for my weight loss journey. I’m proud to share that I’ve lost 40 pounds in the last two months, bringing me close to 100 pounds lost since Ethan was born just two and a half years ago.
Now, I don’t bring this up to make it all about me. Weight loss has always been my Achilles’ heel. I’d start strong, then give up three days later. We all have something like that—a nagging struggle that seems to keep tripping us up.
But here’s the good news: with a new season comes a new opportunity. Let’s use the start of the school year as a fresh reset—for our health goals, our routines, and the promises we’ve made to ourselves.
It’s time to draw the line in the sand and move forward with purpose.
