The Humane Society of Washington County will host a Soup and Chili Lunch Fundraiser on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the American Legion, located at 105 W. Hugh Veteran Drive in Salem. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the event will feature a variety of meal options, including chili, chicken noodle soup, vegetable soup, hot dogs, and grilled cheese, along with soft drinks and desserts. This past Friday, October 24, food trucks gathered to line the sides of Market Street in the most recent edition of the “on the Bricks” series titled, “Food Trucks on the Bricks.”

The D. Jack Mahuron Education Fund was established at the Washington County Community Foundation to encourage educators and staff to teach in innovative ways. This year, the fund has awarded several teachers in the county school corporations approximately $9,000.00.

Grants totaling over $120,000.00 were awarded to organizations serving Washington County by the donors of the Washington County Community Foundation for the Fall 2025 grant cycle. Grants are primarily awarded from the Foundation’s Touch Tomorrow Funds.

Martinsburg, Indiana – The Emmanuel Church and Cemetery Association will host a Clean-Up Day on Saturday, October 18, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A pitch-in lunch will be at 1:00.
