A veteran by the name of David Brewer spoke to the commissioners about adding a Chair of Honor for the Salem Courthouse. This chair would be installed in honor of American veterans, POW and MIA, that never made it home.

It is that time again! Another “On The Bricks” event, hosted on Market (“Brick”) Street by Mayor Justin Green and his staff, is less than one week away. This time, Market Street is seeing the return of “Art On The Bricks” on June 5 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Washington County Community Foundation invites the community to an evening of music, memories, and celebration during its 2026 Annual Meeting on Thursday, July 16, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Cornerstone Hall in Salem. A short program will begin at 6:30 PM.

Grants totaling over $100,000 were awarded to organizations serving Washington County by the generous donors of the Washington County Community Foundation for the Spring 2026 grant cycle. Grants are primarily awarded from the Foundation’s Touch Tomorrow Funds.

Southern Indiana Works (SIW) offers free career-coaching services to eligible residents of Scott and Washington Counties. These services support individuals in planning their careers, strengthening job-search strategies, and possibly connecting them with employment and training opportunities.

A celebration of life has been scheduled for David Maudlin, who passed away on April 13.
