Mr. Robert E. Walls Sr., age 68, of Salem, passed away Monday, August 4 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. Mr. Walls was born March 14, 1957, in Indianapolis, the son of Lawrence "Doc" Stroud and Mary Maxine Rickenbaugh Lawrence Stroud. He was a retired truck driver. He was an Army veteran, a member of Double Y Saddle Club and Enon Baptist Church.

Carol Lee Johnson, 80, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at her residence. Born January 21, 1945, in New Albany, she was the daughter of Victor Bledsoe and Alberta (Shields) Bledsoe Napier. She married Charles Johnson on July 1, 2007 and he survives.

Betty Sue Burns, age 80, of Salem, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 at her residence. Born March 8, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Katherine Wisecarver.

Deborah "Debbie" Lou Souder, age 69, of Salem, Indiana left this earthly life to be with the Lord in His fold of safety after a long battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 12:38 p.m. at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Mrs. Betty Ann Temple, age 84, of Salem, passed away Thursday, July 31 at her home. Mrs. Temple was born June 3, 1941, in Borden, the daughter of Homer Standiford and Elsie Bundren Standiford.

Juanita R. Mount Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on March 20, 1935, in Scottsburg, Indiana to Wilbur and Hazel Myers Mount, Juanita lived a life rich with love, dedication, and community service. She was a proud graduate of Salem High School.

Theodore Martin Critchfield, age 97, of Borden passed away Monday, July 28, 2025. He was born November 17, 1927 in Indianapolis. Theodore was a retired Army veteran, having joined the service on his 17th birthday during World War II, served tours of combat as an infantryman during the Korean War, and continued his service of 23 years through the Vietnam War era. He was also a retired college professor.

Jo Anne Roberts, age 72 of Campbellsburg, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 in her home. Mrs. Roberts was born November 18, 1952 in Hazard Kentucky, the daughter of Bill Mitchell and Frieda Hogston Mitchell.

Kenneth Walden Morgan, age 79, of Mexico Beach, Florida, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025. Mr. Morgan was born December 30, 1945 in Hyden, Kentucky, the son of Lee Morgan and Kathleen Woods Potts.

Jason Andrew Briscoe, age 40 of Pekin, Indiana passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 04:00 pm, in Rainbow Lake near Derby, Indiana.

Jeremy Dewayne Coats, age 33, of Salem, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025 at his residence. Born October 18, 1991 in New Albany, he was the son of Randall Coats and Marilyn Ruth (Biggs) Coats.
