Choices to Host "Moms Connect" Playdates for Babies & Toddlers

Updated: Apr 1

Moms in Washington County have a new way to connect, share experiences, and find support thanks to Washington County Moms Connect, a new weekly playdate hosted by Choices Life Resource Center in Salem. Starting April 7th, local moms and their little ones can gather every Monday for fun, friendship, and valuable resources—all completely free.

Choices Life Resource Center, located at 1201 Jim Day Road.

The playdates offer two open sessions: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at 1201 N Jim Day Rd, Salem. Moms can drop in at any time during these sessions to enjoy quality time with other parents while their babies and toddlers play in a safe and welcoming space.

Free snacks and packs of diapers are provided at every playdate, with no income or residency requirements to attend.

Krystal Hamilton, the Salem Center Manager, emphasizes the heart behind this new program. "Our Mom’s Connect class is a wonderful opportunity for moms to bond with one another, share experiences, and build a strong support network," she shared. "It also provides a chance for them to explore the free services and resources we offer, ensuring they have the tools they need for their parenting journey. We want to create a warm, welcoming space where moms feel encouraged, informed, and empowered."

While these playdates create a great environment for moms and children to connect, Choices Life Resource Center provides much more. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to supporting families by offering parenting education, baby and toddler essentials, and women’s health services—all at no cost.

Through Choices' Step Up Parenting Resources (SUPR)  program, parents can participate in one-on-one mentoring or group classes to earn “Boutique Bucks,” which can be redeemed in the Blessing Boutique for essential baby and toddler supplies like diapers, formula, clothing, car seats, and more.

SUPR class topics include:

  • Prenatal development

  • Effective parenting techniques

  • Fatherhood support

  • Spiritual help

  • Car seat & safe sleep education

  • Life skills like cooking & financial literacy

Choices also offers a range of free health and resource services, including:

  • Pregnancy tests & limited ultrasounds

  • STI testing & treatment

  • Options counseling

  • Bible studies, prayer, & discipleship opportunities

With additional locations in New Albany, Corydon, and Marengo, Choices Life Resource Center is committed to strengthening families and offering vital resources, without financial or residential restrictions.
