Congratulations to Hunter Trainor and Jakob Dreher, this year’s recipients of the Paul Jolly Memorial Scholarship awards!

Paul was an avid angler and overall great outdoorsmen who did so much for the sport of competitive fishing. Each year we honor Paul by presenting this scholarship to an eligible senior who meets the established criteria.

Both applicants this year have fished our trail for multiple years and represent good sportsmanship, conservation, and integrity of the sport.

Hunter is a 2025 graduate of Salem High School and will be attending Indiana University in Bloomington this fall where he will be continuing his education of Environmental management and Sustainability Studies.

Hunter is the son of Jed Trainor and Beverly Lanham of Salem.

Jakob is a 2025 graduate of Floyd Central High School and will be attending Bethel University in Tennessee this fall where he will be continuing his education for Business studies, while fishing at the collegiate level as a member of one of the nation’s top-ranked programs.

Jakob is the son of Jason and Brandi Dreher of Georgetown.

Special thanks to Margo Jolly and the entire Jolly family for supporting our trail and helping make these scholarships possible for our anglers. We would also like to recognize Hoosier Open Tournaments for hosting the annual Paul Jolly Memorial Tournament which helps fund this award.

Best of luck to Hunter & Jakob in their future endeavors, on and off the water!
