On August 27, Washington County emergency responders received a call at 7:31 pm in regard to a truck that had rolled over into a ditch near the area of 8926 US-150 in Hardinsburg. Upon the arrival of the Washington County Times, a red Chevrolet 2500 HD pickup truck could be seen sitting off the south side of the road with debris scattered alongside it.

The Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, August 19 turned out to be quite an eventful one. For months, a small building tucked away off Cheshire Lane in Hardinsburg has been the subject of a county-wide controversy. During the August 19 town board meeting, S. Coy Travis, the Hardinsburg town attorney, aimed to put that controversy to rest.

In an open letter to Mayor Green on August 14, Councilman Randy Lee referenced a "comprehensive final report" compiled by the Salem Water Task Force last year, and accused the Mayor of "[not taking] action to address any of [the] issues" brought up in the report.
