Recently, members of our community along with fellow Hoosiers across the State of Indiana joined together in an event called, “Motorcade for Medicaid” with the hope of raising awareness of rural hospitals that are at risk of closing down citing various budget cuts from the state and federal government.

The first annual “Washington County Resource Day” will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Randy Johnson Fieldhouse at Salem High School. The event is free to attend and open to the public. Attendees can expect a wide variety of booths, giveaways, and activities, including door prizes, a bounce house, and a mobile food pantry.

On Monday, August 4 at 9:17 am, Washington County emergency responders received a call in regard to a fatal motor vehicle accident near Little York at the intersection of N Scifers and Bush Road.
