Cathy Louise Davis, age 74 of Salem, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, in Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Salem. Born November 26, 1950 in New Albany, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Bernis “Copper” A. and Ruby L. (Barksdale) Davis.

On July 17, author Anna Keibler released her first book, A Ghost in the Middle Kingdom. The riveting story follows a young American woman in China who falls in love with a charismatic yak herder, only to become entangled in a whirlwind of treachery, traps, and ultimately revenge.

The first ever “Art on the Bricks” in Salem was a massive success! More than two dozen local artists banded together this past Friday, June 18, to showcase their passions for the community to see. There were many different types of pieces ranging from paintings to sculptures made from scrap metal. It really was a great experience for our community, and it was fascinating to see just how talented Washington County is.

Robert "Bob" Green, age 84, of Salem, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Salem Hospital. Born November 7, 1940, he was the son of the late Martin Green and Veda (Hendricks) Green.

Calvin Barnes, age 86, of Salem, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Salem Crossing. Born July 14, 1939 in Laurel County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Erstle Shelton and Lucy Shelton.

Stephen Lee Alexander, age 74, of Campbellsburg, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at Pam Health & Rehab in New Albany. Born October 26, 1950 in Bedford, he was the son of the late Charles "Bodge" Nolan Alexander and Viola "Fay" (Thixton) Alexander. On January 30, 1988, he married Linda (Carter) Alexander who survives.

Cleveland Robinson, age 86, of Salem, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Manchester, Kentucky on October 8, 1938 to the late Levi and Della (Gross) Robinson. On September 10, 1966, he married Sharon Walton who survives.

Johnny Ray Brough, 78, of Pekin, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was born on August 19, 1946, in Salem, Indiana, to the late Paul and Lucille Brough.

Jo Ann Voyles, age 66 of Salem, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2025 in her home. Mrs. Voyles was born February 19, 1959 in Kentucky, the daughter of Marvin and Jean Bailey Sermon.
