On October 20, Salem emergency responders were dispatched to a fatal house fire at 101 Raneer Drive located in the Fairview mobile home lot off of Old State Road 60. The dispatch call stated that an explosion seemed to be the cause of the fire.

Commissioners met on October 21 to discuss a new Subdivision Control Ordinance. Max Greene and Lucy Brenton took the stand to raise concerns over it.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, the Indiana State Police received a call from the Louisville Airport and FAA about a possible downed aircraft near the Orange County / Lawrence County line. According to police, the crash involved a Lancair fixed-wing, single engine aircraft. On September 28, 2025, at approximately 12:04 am, members of emergency services were dispatched to the area of State Road 60, near 2393 N. Smedley Road, in Campbellsburg, Indiana for a motor vehicle accident. The type of accident and number of vehicles was unknown at the time of the call.

The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) has notified the Washington County Health Department that mosquito samples collected in Washington County have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). The department recommends taking precautions against mosquito bites to reduce the risk of disease caused by mosquito-borne viruses, which in addition to WNV include Eastern equine encephalitis (triple-E) virus, and La Crosse virus.
