Vickie L. Kniesly, 63, of Pekin, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born July 30, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Rod and Penny (Foster) Houston.

Christine Schmidt, 89, of Salem, passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Born March 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Noah D. Wickey and Mattie (Schwartz) Wickey.

John W. Mead, age 79, of Salem, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025. Born September 8, 1945 in Carmel California, he was the son of the late Willis Chenoweth Mead and Helen Genevieve (Kiefer) Mead.

Walter Raleigh Deaton, 81, of Little York, Indiana passed away April 23, 2025, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on November 13, 1943, to John Logan and Beulah Deaton Deaton. He came to Jackson County at the age of 10 and has lived here since. He graduated from Salem High School in Salem and married Veva Sue Greathouse on July 29, 1962.

Steven Michael Dunlevy, age 67, of Borden, passed away on April 23, 2025 at his residence. He was born on July 20, 1957 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Steven was a safety inspector for Semper Tek. He was a Christian in faith, and an avid Nascar fan.

Gary K. Coffey, a cherished family man and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025 at the age of 80. Born on February 22, 1945 in Scottsburg, Indiana, Gary lived a life rich in love, laughter and service to others. He believed in making the world a better place and he practiced what he preached in many ways.

Merdie Dotson was born October 4, 1928 in Cromona, Kentucky, He was the son of Dewey A. Dotson and Bridgett (Gibson) Dotson.

Jewell C. (Jackson) Sweeney, a longtime resident of Salem, Indiana, passed away on April 12, 2025. She was 90 years old. She was the daughter of Sherman and Frowe (Duke) Jackson of Bedford, Indiana, and was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Sweeney, whom she married on January 1, 1955.

Robert Lee Pennington, age 72 of Salem, Indiana passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, in his residence.
