The Washington County Farmers-Merchants Fair will take place from Saturday, June 13 through Saturday, June 20 at the fairgrounds off East Market Street. A digital copy of the fair's program can be found here, including entry forms for the fair parade and baby contest.

Local emergency services have responded to two motorcycle accidents in the last two days. According to a statement from the Washington County Sheriff's Department, the first motorcycle accident occurred at approximately 4:06 pm on June 2, 2026, at the intersection of State Road 60 West and Orchard Road.

A veteran by the name of David Brewer spoke to the commissioners about adding a Chair of Honor for the Salem Courthouse. This chair would be installed in honor of American veterans, POW and MIA, that never made it home.

The June 2 commissioners meeting saw topics such as bid approval for the Fairgrounds Sewage Project, as well as a threatened lawsuit against the commissioners.
